{"id":1848,"date":"2018-02-05T01:09:20","date_gmt":"2018-02-05T01:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bamboopursuits.com\/?p=1848"},"modified":"2018-02-05T01:10:05","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T01:10:05","slug":"trying-out-a-new-bamboo-rod-on-the-crooked-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bamboopursuits.com\/?p=1848","title":{"rendered":"Trying Out a New Bamboo Rod on the Crooked River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, it&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve been out fishing&#8230;.been real busy in the shop with rod building.\u00a0 Mary Ann just finished building her second bamboo rod, a beautiful 7&#8242;\u00a0 9&#8243;\u00a0 4 wt Progressive Medium-Action rod.\u00a0 What a great taper&#8230;casts dries like a dream.\u00a0 She cast dry flies hard for a few hours while I took out my 9&#8242;\u00a0 0&#8243;\u00a0 3 wt Czech Nymphing rod with #20 zebra nymphs and Bead Head Pheasant Tail Nymphs.\u00a0 I picked up several fish on nymphs, but there was nothing hatching and she was fishless on dries.\u00a0 But, she eventually went over to small nymphs, and her new rod handled them great.\u00a0 And&#8230;.she got several fish to the net.\u00a0 As her first fish on her new rod she picked up a nice 13<span style=\"display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: transparent; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,Arial,'Nimbus Sans L',sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;\">&#8221; whitefish.\u00a0 After that, several feisty rainbows.
