I’ve been using this fly here in Central Idaho with great success.\u00a0 It seems to be a good imitation for adult golden stoneflies.\u00a0 I can’t take credit for the invention of this fly…I found something like this a fly shop here…I don’t remember which one or what the original version of this fly was called.\u00a0 But, I’ve modified it a little to match the smaller adult golden stoneflies that we’re seeing in late June.\u00a0 Mary Ann has been calling this pattern the Chubby Junior…even though it has no resemblance to a Chubby Chernobyl…the name sounds fine to me.\u00a0 Here is the recipe:<\/p>\n

Hook:\u00a0 #8 2X long<\/p>\n

Tail:\u00a0 Tan Calf Tail<\/p>\n

Body:\u00a0 gold dubbing with 2mm tan foam on top<\/p>\n

Wing:\u00a0 12 strands of white crystal flash, with tan calf tail on top<\/p>\n

Head\/Thorax:\u00a0 2mm tan foam<\/p>\n

Leggs:\u00a0 Brown Rubber<\/p>\n

Hackle:\u00a0 brown<\/p>\n
