Single-Hand Rods – The cost for all of my two-tip single-hand rods is $2195.  I don’t have any hidden fees, and any customization you want on your new bamboo rod to match to your own unique desires is included in the price.  It takes me about 6 to 8 weeks to complete a rod.  I require a non-refundable deposit of $200 to get started on your new rod.  Final payment is due when I ship the finished rod to you.

Two-Hand Trout Spey Rod – I add specialized custom machined hardware on this rod, as well as a custom winding check with matching accent.  Additional labor is also needed to build this larger rod.  As such, the cost for this rod is $2395.

In addition to my standard choices of rods, I have several other rods I build.  So, don’t hesitate to ask for a unique taper, rod action, or size/wt rod if you don’t see in my standard offerings.   I also always have a few completed rods in my “inventory”.  If you absolutely need one NOW, maybe I already have it available.

Bamboo Trout Net – I’m now also building bamboo trout nets.  These nets are made from the same select Tonkin Bamboo that I build my fly rods with.  I’m currently building nets in two lengths for walk-and-wade situations; 27″ and 29″ long, and 32″ long for float tubing.  All nets are $500 each.

  1. Love the video on guidewrapping. WOuld you share about the rest you made for the rod to sit in as you wrap the guides? Is it something that sits on the table or freestanding on the floor? Also do you have additional supports for holding rod while you wrap tips and near reel seat?
    Thanks for you time.

    • Sonnie,

I currently have a 7′ 6″ 5wt rod (my Spring Creek Series) available for sale for $1600, and I’m putting the finishing touches on an 8′ 0″ 6 wt rod (my Signature Series) that will be available in about 2 to 3 weeks. Are you interested?

  2. Hi Dave I am certainly very interested.I will make a decision
on either rod if you can email me some photos of the rods.
I am keen to buy some rods of bamboo to add to my other
carbon rods.I do not own any bamboo rods.Sonnie

  3. Dave! Glad to hear you guys made the move! Hopefully that means your house sold! I spent four days on the Blitzen River last week, exclusively fished with my DAVE DOZER bamboo rod! I absolutely love this rod! I heard that Spencer Dixon is opening the shop back up. Hope you guys are doing well. Hi to Mary Ann. Are you building any 8 ft 4 piece 4 wts? Thinking that a bamboo backpacking rod would be too cool!
    Thanks!

    Jerry

    • Hi Jerry,

Yep, we’re now in Sisters. I’ll bet that little 3 wt. rod you have worked great on the Blitzen River. Normally I build my 8 ft. 4 wt. rods as 3 piece rods but I can do one as a 4 piece also. I’ll email you with my info.

      Dave
